Pirandai Thokku (Adament Creeper Pickle)

Adament creeper, popularly known as Pirandai in Tamil is a wonderful medicinal herb that is available in small forests around us.. As per our traditional home medicinal skills this Pirandai was taken daily to assist digestion and help in bone re-growth. 

Adament creeper, as the name suggests is a creeper that grows in small forests with some trees and preferrable in a hilly terrain.  Farmers who are already used to such type of terrains and creepers only take it down and come to sell in residential areas. 

This should be properly peeled up with protection since the peeling act will cause itching in hands. Also should be properly cooked with tamarind and ginger for its full benefits.

In this busy world - all cannot get Adament creeper and make it as thogaiyal. So we give it in thokku form without any added preservatives or extra colours. This can be used upto 30 to 45 days keeping in a cool place and away from heat and direct sunlight..
